Director Woolweaver announced today the start of the 2012 QSL Card Contest for all amateurs residing in the West Gulf Division. Effective through April 30, 2012 amateur residents in Oklahoma and Texas may submit their QSL cards for consideration in three (3) contest categories: Most Humorous, Best Graphic Design and Best Photo. QSL card may be submitted for consideration in multiple categories but must be submitted individually per category, accompanied by a submission form.
Cards may be submitted to Director Woolweaver via US Postal Service or by giving them to a WGD representative at upcoming WGD ARRL sanctioned hamfests or conventions. (See complete rules for more information.)
All categories will initially be judged by a team of five judges. Each of the four Section Managers has appointed a judge and the WGD leadership has appointed one judge. The judges will declare a winner in each category.
The top vote winner in each category will be announced in early May and the winning category cards will be posted on the West Gulf Division website. There division Amateurs will be able to vote for their favorite card to win the Grand Prize. All amateurs will be eligible to vote however it will be restricted to one vote per division resident call sign.
Each category winner will receive a Dual Band HT. The Grand Prize Winner will be announced during the ARRL Forum at HamCom 2012, will receive an MFJ Antenna Analyzer.
